City of Heroes fans have City of Heroes Homecoming working on a Steam Deck

Some heroes don't wield powers; they wield script

It’s already astonishing enough that City of Heroes: Homecoming is an officially licensed emulator, but now it’s become a portable MMORPG thanks to the help of Faultline, one of the forum moderators, who wrote a script that lets the game run on Steam Deck.

The LinuxHC script will let players install the Homecoming launcher on to the Steam Deck and even create a desktop icon for it. Once that’s done through the instructions provided by Faultline, it’s a matter of right-clicking the desktop icon and selecting “Add to Steam.”

Multiple replies to the thread where this was announced show players working through a few tech snarl-ups but ultimately getting it to function. It still appears to require a bit more intimate knowledge of Linux and the device, but if you fall into those buckets, Faultline may be your new best friend.
