All that talk of 2024 being the “Year of Darkpaw” over at Daybreak wasn’t just a lot of PR hot air. Kicking off the year where major anniversary milestones happen is a new update for EverQuest that adds an anniversary tower and a free Orc Warrior metamorph wand giveaway.
Daybreak said that EverQuest’s anniversary tower is set to open its doors on January 17th: “This tower features 11 floors to be unlocked over time via quests called the Tower Trials. Each Trial quest consists of a task that sends you off to various places across Norrath to find a key that unlocks a tower door! Once inside, prepare yourself for a unique encounter you must overcome to collect your currency! Inside the tower resides a vendor with items you can spend your Year of Darkpaw Timeless Tokens currency on.”
Meanwhile over in EverQuest II, the celebrations are starting with the appearance of mysterious Avatars world bosses that will rotate over the course of the year, each with their own special rewards. The January freebie for EQ2 players is a Maxembert the Fiesty pet, which can be claimed in the Marketplace.
Daybreak said that it will host an Ask Me Anything in February, although players can stock this forum thread full of their questions starting on January 10th.
